Memorial Day Parade

You can't beat the hometown parade! Lakeport, CA puts on a great show -- little Shriner cars, rodeo queens on horseback, lots of loud fire trucks, the high school marching band, and lots of floats throwing out candy for the kids!

I Scream, You Scream

Nora's preschool, Children's Village, had their annual picnic in Golden Gate Park. There was a cool juggler, and lots of tasty food. Teacher Molly did face painting for the kids!

The rare hot day in May in SF calls for Mitchell's Ice Cream. Nora chose good ole Chocolate. Note the Hot Rod tattoos - they were all over her body.

Del Mar, CA - Weekend Trip

Dell & Nora watching the waves
View all the photos on Flickr

Dell, Nora & I went down to Del Mar, CA for a long weekend to visit some friends. We saw the Patterson Family (David, Cindy, Jessica, Alexa, Tyler) and the Romero Family (Celino, Michelle, Nino, Maxi, Raquel). The Patterson Family gave us a room at their spacious, luxurious home, and treated us like royalty. Thanks to them for making our trip so comfy!

We got to go see Los Romeros play an amazing guitar quartet show in Escondido. They dedicated the performance to their late father/grandfather Celedonio Romero who is the amazing man who started their group. Today is the 10th anniversary of his passing... so here is a big SALUD! to Papa up in heaven. Also Happy Birthday to Nino Romero on his "Golden Year" birthday (he turned 8 yrs old on the 8th of May).

Plant Trees + Stop Junk Mail = Green Dimes

I just found this web site to deal with my huge junk mail problem: GreenDimes. For a dime a day they get your name off direct mailing lists and keep it off, and plant a tree for you every month. So if you want to stop your mailbox from overflowing, and save some trees, take a look at GreenDimes. Note: I have noticed a HUGE reduction in the amount of junk mail I have been getting!
