Little Texas @ The Rodeo Club

Another rockin' Little Texas show at The Rodeo Club in San Jose. The band sounded great, and the new song "Missing Years" is very moving and plain amazing. Listen to some of the best songwriting coming out of Nashville at their website: http://www.littletexasonline.com

Ta-Da! New Haircut!

What do you think of my new haircut? Dell says it is the best haircut I have ever had... that's saying a lot!

A Decade of Sarah's Hair Styles

I am heading in for a major haircut Wed 1/31, and thought it would be really funny to look back on my hairstyles over the years.

I threw together this album of a decade-worth of my cuts and colors (please ignore the weight changes in my cheeks!). Amazing when you see it all together in one place. I am surprised at how many of the photos I have SHORT hair! Much more than med/long hair.

The pix are starting back in 1997 when we first got a digital camera, up through about a month ago... Enjoy the trip! (just click the photo to begin the slideshow).

The slideshow defaults to a 4 second delay per photo, but you probably don't need that long for each photo... The controls are at the bottom of the screen to change it - I find 2 seconds to be just about right.

Or view the non-slideshow album instead here.

Dudley Slumber Party in SF

The Dudley family came for a visit to SF, and we had a relaxing, hang-around-the-house weekend. A little kareoke party for the girls, a little wine for the adults. Every time we hang with Carol and Brian, it seems like no time has passed, and we jump right back into the familiar waters of a great friendship, grown-ups and kids alike. Baby Sophia LOVED Dell, and was the sweetest angel the entire visit.

Sunday we took Camille and Nora to Dance Class at the Metronome. It was a big challenge for Camille, who, after a barrage of tears, bravely bucked up for her first "mommy leaves while daughter takes dance class." BRAVO CAMILLE! We are so proud of you!

Nora's First Dance Class

Today, Nora started combo ballet/tap class at Metronome Dance Center. Her teacher, Miss Heather, says that they will have a tap recital this summer! All the parents leave the class and the kids are solo with the teacher for a full hour... Nora did great for her first time!

Aden's Christmas Gift

Thanks to Aden for a great, HUGE undersea puzzle! The thing is as tall as Nora when fully assembled. Dell and Nora had a great time putting it together for the first time.

Nora's Kindergarten - Fall 2007

Well, we turned in our Public School Enrollment form today... here is how the choices came out for Nora:

1. Rosa Parks Japanese Bilingual
2. Alvarado General
3. McKinley
4. Rosa Parks General
5. Starr King Mandarin Immersion
6. Harvey Milk
7. Rooftop

Plus, we are going to enroll at Creative Arts Charter School.

Now we just have to wait till March 16th for the lottery/assignments! Lordy...

I made a cool little map hack to show where the schools are in relation to our home and my office. Courtesy of the Batchgeocode.com website.

Nora's First Writing Assignment

Nora got a great easel for Christmas, and I was finally put it together today. The whiteboard is going to be great for Nora to practice writing and drawing. Today, I gave her a writing assignment to copy what I had written. My letters are green, Nora's are blue. She did GREAT! View the photos on Flickr.

A Kodak Moment

If you haven't seen this yet, and you are even remotely interested in photos and Kodak, you HAVE to watch this little video. It is a total crack up. Good for Kodak for having the balls to do something so truthful and hilarious. My boss blogged about it on the MortarBlog, but I want to share it with my peeps...

Mark writes:
"This commercial was produced for Kodak's internal use. But it has become so popular, especially with employees, the company released it so the rest of us can appreciate their anticipated resurgence. God, I love it when companies are honest. Forthright. And funny. Especially when the spokesperson pans Kodak's attempt to save film with Advantix. (I know, I barely remember it too)."

Just click the "play" arrow in the center of the video to enjoy!

New Year's Eve in Texas

We flew to Houston on Wed 12/27 for a visit with the Thompson Clan. Lots of hanging out, visiting, eating, playing games. Nora stayed up for her first New Year's Eve celebration. Very relaxing and fun to spend time with Dell's family. View all the photos on Flickr.

Plant Trees + Stop Junk Mail = Green Dimes

I just found this web site to deal with my huge junk mail problem: GreenDimes. For a dime a day they get your name off direct mailing lists and keep it off, and plant a tree for you every month. So if you want to stop your mailbox from overflowing, and save some trees, take a look at GreenDimes. Note: I have noticed a HUGE reduction in the amount of junk mail I have been getting!
